Can I use a pressure washer to strip paint?
Yes. To ensure no damage to the wood surface, try a wide fan spray at a distance to test the surface. Direct the spray at a 45-degree angle. This will dislodge any loose paint or debris.

Do I need high-pressure or low-pressure detergent?
Generally speaking, low-pressure detergent works better than high-pressure detergent. When detergent is applied to a surface, it needs time to penetrate the spill. When high-pressure detergent is added to the system, much of the detergent is blown off during the application. Low-pressure detergent can be spread evenly and with less splash back.

Do I need a hot-water pressure washer?
Hot-water pressure washers are excellent for cleaning up oil, grease, and diesel spills, and for disinfecting. Applications such as service areas, garages, industrial plants, food processing, and airports are candidates for a hot-water washer.

Is pounds per square inch (p.s.i.) or gallons per minute (g.p.m.) more important?
Both. The p.s.i. delivers the "punch" to a washing application, or in other words, forces the contaminant from the surface. The g.p.m. will flush the contaminants. Most homeowners will opt for more p.s.i., while the farmer needs the flow to push contaminants to the final destination.
